Pools, gyms and generators: what our listings offer

We read all 138 of our listings and counted the features each one names. Here is what they offer.

The most common features

Security and swimming pools share the top spot: 71 listings name guards, a gatehouse or 24-hour cover, and 71 have a pool. Then come a gym (42), air conditioning (39), gardens (36) and staff quarters (35). Rooftop terraces appear on 29 listings and children's play areas on 18.

Each type of home has its strengths

Apartments are strong on shared facilities. Of our 44 apartments, 39 have a pool and 34 have a gym. Nineteen have a rooftop and 12 have a play area for children.

Standalone houses are strong on the home itself. Of our 39 houses, 19 have air conditioning and 16 have staff quarters.

Gated communities and townhouses are strong on security. It is named on 22 of the 33 gated community listings and 17 of the 22 townhouses.

Power

21 listings name a generator, inverter or standby power, and four have solar. If power matters to you, filter for these homes first, and ask us about any other home on your shortlist.

Service charges

None of the homes we list today publishes its service charge, so ask for it before you compare two estates. In a managed community it can decide which of two similar homes is cheaper to live in.
